Kirkby Stephen is about the closest market town to our yard after Appleby itself. Farm roads, driveways, yards and village schemes across the Upper Eden are as local as our work gets.
The Upper Eden is farming country, and most of what we build here has to earn its living: farm roads that carry milk tankers in all weathers, yards that take a scraper tractor every day, entrances that meet the highway properly, and hardstandings that stay put under silage trailers.
Recycled planings from our road planing contracts are one of the most cost-effective materials for tracks and gateways in this landscape, and we deliver and lay them with our own wagons and plant. Where a surface needs to be asphalt, it is machine-laid on a compacted base, the same construction we give a public road.
Villages from Brough to Ravenstonedale to Tebay sit within our daily range. Small jobs are welcome precisely because they are close: a gateway repair or a short stretch of lane fits into the programme between larger contracts.
